Model Changes:
Only the 750i and the 750iL will be available for 2009's 5th generation 7 Series. The only engine available will be a direct-injection 4.4L Twin Turbo, which first appeared in the X6. The engine produces 400 horsepower, which is 40 more than previous generations, and 450 lb/ft of torque, an increase of 90. Only in a six-speed automatic transmission for 2009. Top speed is 155 miles per hour, made possible in part to more aluminum in the body. A new suspension system consists of a multi-link, double-wishbone front suspension. Shifting is now done through E-Shift, a "joystick" in the center console. The electronic shifter on the column with additional shifting buttons on the steering wheel is gone. Seat controls are now on the seat and are no longer on the door panel. Possibly the biggest change from previous generations will be the iDrive control system, which is completely redesigned. One central knob now allows drivers to scroll easily through choices rather than deal with dozens of menus and submenus. The display screen is bigger, now 10.2 inches. All temperature controls are displayed prominently and easily on the dashboard and are no longer part of the iDrive control system. The Owners Manual is now available electronically on the iDrive. Also new for 2009 is a 40-gigabyte hard drive for navigation and entertainment, which allows for 13-gigs of music storage

Model Overview:
BMW redesigned the 750i and the 750iL based on buyer feedback. This resulted in a whole new 7-Series for 2009. The exterior design focuses on a sharp, full-length front to back crease to give the cars a stretched look. The kidney-shaped grill is set further forward than other BMW models for prominence. Gone is the bulbous trunk as well as other controversial styling from previous models. The interior has improved ergonomics for a more comfortable rideThe 7 Series comes with Integrated Chassis Management (ICM), which uses multiple sensors throughout the car to allow for four different types of drives: comfort, normal, sport and sport plus. ICM includes the new Dynamic Damping Control, a type of variable shock damping, Integral Active Steering with speed-sensitive rear-steer and Electronic Differential Lock Control, which allows for some slip in the sport plus mode but still includes stability control. BMW's Active Roll Stabilization is available as an option. Outstanding safety features include night vision with pedestrian detection, which alerts drivers to pedestrians or cyclists within close range. Also included are side view cameras, part of the Blind Spot Detection System that will vibrate the steering wheel should the driver signal a lane change and another vehicle is in that lane. Standard are ABS, traction control, an anti-skid system, front side airbags, knee airbags and curtain side airbags. Also standard are steering-linked headlights, front and rear-obstacle detection and BMW Assist emergency and concierge service. Options include an adaptive cruise control, which can move the car automatically in traffic. Four-wheel steering is also available as an option, as are a night-vision system, keyless engine start and DVD rear seat entertainment.

2009 BMW 750 Overview
Introduction
The BMW 7-series is the pinnacle of BMW sedans. A luxury sedan that's big, smooth, fast and loaded with state-of-the-art technology to keep you safe on today's roads.
The 750i and long-wheelbase 750Li are powered by a direct-injection, 400-hp 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 bolted to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. The 750 has many standard luxury features such as four-zone automatic climate control, power sunroof, high-gloss wood trim, heated 16-way Comfort seats, voice-activated navigation system on a 10.2-inch color monitor, HD radio and BMW Assist emergency and information communications. Standard run-flat tires wrap 18-inch alloy wheels, while standard Park Distance Control adaptive brake lights and steerable adaptive bi-xenon headlights provide active safety. High-tech options include rear and side-view cameras, power trunk lid, high-beam assistant, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, dual 8-inch screens for rear seat entertainment and ventilated front seats.
